This method quantitatively analyzes fibre blends that contain more than two components.
This method is a guide to the selection of analytical procedures that vary from sample to sample. It is not intended to limit the analyst to specific procedures for analysis.
If the types of fibres present in the blends are not known, they must be identified before quantitative analysis is undertaken (see par. 10.1).
The accuracy of the results obtained with this method will be decreased by the presence of nonfibrous finishes that cannot be removed.
The testing and evaluation of a product against this method may require the use of materials and/or equipment that could be hazardous. This document does not purport to address all the safety aspects associated with its use. Anyone using this method has the responsibility to consult the appropriate authorities and to establish appropriate health and safety practices in conjunction with any existing applicable regulatory requirements prior to its use.
